Intensive Bollywood Dance Training at Artistic Studio Oriental Expression

The 2month intensive training of the 1st BOLLYWOOD DANCE ACADEMY GREECE will take place on Sunday, 20 March 2016 (12 p.m. – 5 p.m.)

14:00 – 17:00 “Sun Saathiya” – Bollywood Choreography
Anna Dimitratou, director of 1st Bollywood Dance Academy Greece, invites 2 Indian teachers and dancers that will initiate us in two, very unique forms of Indian Dance.
The first two hours Sumon Rudra will teach us Kallaripayatu (Indian Martial Art) that its basis is on Yoga’s Asanas.
Kalaripayattu, the mother of all martial arts in the world, originated in Kerela, a state in the South of India. The class will begin with a brief talk about the martial art. It will be taught in the northern style which is based on more elegant and flexible movements. It would comprise of the traditional warmup, basic combination of Vadivus (Postures) and the Sun Salutation sequence. The class will be not be about seeing body as different parts but integrating the human body as whole by maintaining a mind – body equilibrium.
The last three hours Narendra Patil will teach us a Bollywood choreography with influences from contemporary dance on the song “Sun Saathiya” from “ABCD 2” movie.
Bollywood workshop is created to target the inner freedom of an individuals captured emotions and expressions, which they can unleash through this colorful dance form that allows you to perform unabashedly. The movement includes a lot of hip and neck articulations alongside loud expressions and quick tapping of the feet, more commonly known as dip- ping. Students can also expect to learn certain Indian classical mudras from the dance form of Bharatanatyam which can be incorporated into the dance sequence to make it more vibrant and dramatic. This style includes having a blast and stepping into the shoes of various Bollywood movie stars as you give the ‘Thumkas’ on some of the latest and most popular tracks from their movies.
The seminar refers to professionals and amateur dancers, actors, but also to whoever wishes to learn the REAL Bollywood.
The workshop ESPECIALLY refers to everyone that participates in BE A BOLLYWOOD DANCE PROFESSOR program and cannot participate in the weekly schedule of the Academy.
- The training material and especially the choreography is property of the 1st Bollywood Dance Academy and may not be taught by others for any reason. Right to teach the choreography are only accredited teachers of the Academy.
